How does SilverFish work?

SilverFish's hardware consists of two components, a reusable electronic component (REC) and a single-use sticker. The REC is what send's the signal to the dashboard to locate the leak, while the sticker's job is to detect the leak.

Set up is very easy:
1. Open and connect all the RECs to Wi-Fi by scanning the QR code on the back. At this point, you can choose to label or name them on the dashboard if you choose.
2.  Place the RECs on the pipes/tank of your choice.
3.
Connect the REC to the sticker. Each REC can connect to up to two stickers.
4. That's all! Now you are all set and the leaks will be displayed on your dashboard.

Did you know that we can customize different lengths and designs depending on the shape of your piping system, storage tank, water heater, etc.? By default, we have two designs: (1) a thin meter-long sticker and (2) a 3" x 5" rectangular design.

How does Lumen work?

Lumen is an in-line contamination detection device which means that we need access to the water. This can be done in multiple ways, the easiest method is to attach the system to a valve or cuff directly on the pipe (drilling a single hole to allow water intake). There are three parts you need to be aware of: the base unit, the replaceable testing cartridge.

The system is designed to be autonomous and self-cleaning, so all you have to do is exchange the testing cartridge once empty. You can check the status of the cartridge (the number of tests left) on the dashboard.

The dashboard will be your best friend. It can help you select the  contaminants of interest, adjust frequency of testing, geolocate the contamination within your facility, and check for external factors (weather, municipal contamination, source water levels, etc.).

FAQs

Water management can be hard but we love questions. We went ahead and answered a few below but if you don't find what you need, then just reach out.

How is water management related to carbon reduction?

Manufacturers: Stakeholders can significantly contribute to carbon reduction by adopting water-efficient processes within their production facilities. Implementing technologies that optimize water use, recycling, and reuse practices can not only reduce water consumption but also lower the energy requirements for water treatment and supply. Additionally, considering the water footprint of the supply chain and opting for sustainable water practices among suppliers indirectly promotes environmental sustainability. By adapting manufacturing processes to be resilient to climate change impacts, such as water scarcity, manufacturers can contribute to long-term carbon reduction efforts and enhance overall environmental stewardship.

Energy Producers: Power plants play a crucial role in carbon reduction through strategic water management. Optimizing cooling systems, adopting closed-loop cooling, and integrating alternative cooling technologies can minimize water consumption and associated energy use in power generation. For those using fossil fuels, implementing carbon capture and storage technologies involves careful consideration of water usage. Transitioning to renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, is pivotal in reducing carbon emissions, and effective water management is essential in the production and maintenance of these renewable technologies. Ensuring resilience to water scarcity and considering efficient wastewater treatment processes also contribute to lowering the overall carbon footprint of energy production facilities. By addressing the water-energy nexus, energy producers can enhance sustainability and contribute to global efforts in mitigating climate change.

Is there a free trial available?

If you are interested in piloting a solution prior to confirming a large purchase, we are happy to send over a few free samples. Along with the products, we will always offer a free onboarding consultation and on-site demo.

How much does INTI cost?

The hardware business model structure is the following:

SilverFish: Clients purchase hardware components (razor and blade). The cost for one set (10 REC and 20 stickers) is $350. This price is significantly reduced for larger orders.

Lumen: This product is still under development but we anticipate a hardware rental model, costing roughly $1050/month.

Both hardware products have a software subscription price that charges a small fee per hardware unit deployed and connected to the cloud. database.

Is there a contract or long-term commitment required?

Our goal is to provide customers with ongoing support and access to updates, so we offer both short-term and long-term contracts to work within any budget. The minimum contract size is 6 months.

If you are interested in piloting the solution, we are happy to explore projects for a duration of 2 months. We have a "pilot package" that offers free rental hardware and we only charge for consulting services. At the end, you get a custom case study and if you are interested in entering a formal contract... you get a discount!
